I’m Dr. Hope L. Hayes, a Doctor of Physical Therapy specializing in sexual pain and pelvic floor dysfunction, including vaginismus, vulvodynia, dyspareunia, pain after childbirth or menopause, and pelvic pain in men. All care is virtual and one-on-one.
I built this practice for the patients the system misses, people who have been examined, tested, and told everything looks normal while sex still hurts. When that happens, it’s rarely because nobody cared. It happens because standard appointments aren’t built to hear a whole story, and standard exams aren’t built to find what drives this kind of pain.
My approach starts with the nervous system, the part of the body that learned to guard against pain, so it can finally let go. And when your case needs more than one discipline, I coordinate with your physician and specialists rather than working alone.
Before physical therapy, I spent over a decade as a technology architect. My job was finding the pattern in complex systems that everyone else had missed, and I left that career because I kept seeing the same thing happening to women: real problems being dismissed and symptoms managed instead of being solved. Now finding what others miss is my entire practice.
I earned my Doctor of Physical Therapy from Marist University, my EdM in Applied Physiology from Columbia University, and my BS in Biology from the illustrious Fayetteville State University. With advanced pelvic rehabilitation training through the Herman & Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute.
